Sometimes one has to wonder if a designer is taking tableware a bit too far. While there is always
something appealing about integrating disparate design elements (such as bowls, plates and place mats in this case) there is also cleaning and storage to be considered.
The idea itself by Maezm is elegantly simple: setting a place at the table requires putting down one of this all-in-one flexible silicon surface with built-in dishwar and adding a set of flatware. Though the premise sounds promising, in practice there are some catches to this design idea.
Criticisms of whether this is proper or formal aside, this object would seem awkward to store in a conventional kitchen cabinet and difficult to clean given the acute angles at the intersections of the bowls, plates and the base table-cloth material itself.
